What is CEREC technology?
CEREC is an acronym for CEramic RECon-struction. We take a 3-dimensional photo of your tooth and custom-craft, using computer-assisted design, a perfectly molded restoration. Minutes later we bond your final restoration in place.

We figure you have better ways to spend your time.
Have you ever had to make several trips to the dentist to complete a treatment or procedure? Well, those days are over at Dr. Crumpton's office.
In the past many dental techniques have relied on the use of temporary crowns or fillings, requiring the patient to come back two to three weeks later for their permanent replacement. That means double the work and double the time in the dental chair to fix the problem. And it also assumes a temporary crown or filling will last the time it takes a lab to make your permanent replacement.
Now when you come in and need a crown, an inlay or even veneers, you can walk out with your new teeth in the same visit, thanks to the breakthroughs of CEREC (Ceramic REConstruction) technology.
And that way, you can spend more time on the things that matter to you most.
What is CEREC?
CEREC is an acronym for CEramic REConstruction. It consists of three simple steps that can be used to create perfect full and partial tooth restorations in minutes. Here's how it works:
After the dentist has prepared the tooth by clearing away any tooth decay or old fillings that need to be replaced we take a 3-dimensional photo of your tooth using a digital x-ray camera.
Our computer system analyzes your mouth structure to determine the optimum shape and dimensions for your new veneer, crown or filling.
Your new tooth is milled out of a small block of ceramic using a diamond-cutter. This process takes 4 to 6 minutes depending on the size of the replacement tooth. Your dentist then bonds the new ceramic replacement into place.

Advantages of ceramic tooth reconstruction
A CEREC tooth restoration isn't just convenient, it is also healthy. Many years ago, dentists had few options to repair decayed and damaged teeth other than amalgam, gold, and other metals. With CEREC, your dentist can use strong, tooth colored ceramic materials to restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function.
These ceramic materials have many advantages over metal fillings. In addition to the fact that they look like your natural teeth, they also operate like your natural tooth material. For example, when you eat hot or cold foots, your teeth naturally expand and contract. CEREC tooth restorations are designed to expand and contract at almost equal rates, so your tooth doesn't crack or overcrowd your mouth.
Smile enhancement
Your dentist can use CEREC for more than just crowns and fillings. CEREC is capable of producing any single tooth restoration. Chipped or discolored front teeth can be repaired with beautiful CEREC porcelain crowns or veneers.
